Thanks, Brian. Pickled recipe sounds good. Peppers are not one of my ‘hate ‘em’ foods some I’m good to go on this one.

pam – try these. they are impossible to hate (IMO). i plow thru them all day long. cheaper at farmers mkt than sams. but i have heard if you are gonna go organic – peppers is the first place to start (re: they soak up pesticides, etc more than most veggies)

@eric – wouldn’t it be just hilarious if it wasn’t zucchini and I’m such a novice I identified the food incorrectly? @tiffany – I was afraid . . . very afraid. I’ve seen your scores. I knew you could walk me outside, hold me down, and shove the food down my throat had you chosen [...]

Haha Pam. I’m glad you decided to eat that zucchini. You know what a thug I am and that I would’ve totally taken you outside and whooped you had you not cleaned your plate. I had no idea you were so vegetable averse. I’m super excited to go shopping and try out some of the [...]

Pam, the recipe book is up! Your posts are awesome as always. I am not sure which recipe had the zucchini, maybe I am missing someone’s recipe. I will research for you.

I’ve been reading through some of the posts here in nutrition, and I’ve followed
the link under ”Resources” to the Paleo Diet…luckily, I eat like this for the
most part, love meat, fish and veggies! fruit will be hard for me as I dont
like sweets, but I’ll give it my best to stomach it. Do I understand no dairy?
I dont like milk so that works, but what about yogurt? Do I get my calcium
through veggies and maybe a supplement? I admit I will probaby succumb to
whole grain bread and possibly whole wheat pasta/couscous on occasion, but in limite doses.
I’ve only been to two workouts so far and I have to say, as much as it frightens
me, I really like it! The nutrition will only help to quicken my fitness
progress. Thanks to everyone who’s been so helpful!

Kim, that is great! Don’t worry about having to eat a lot of fruit, you should focus on vegetables as your primary source of carbohydrates anyway. Dairy is something that affects people in different ways and on a strict paleo diet you would cut out all dairy. As for yogurt, I recommend the full fat greek yogurt Fage Total.

You will learn a lot about why we discourage consumption of grains in our nutrition seminar but obviously a cheat every now and then is definitely ok.

I am glad that you already realize the connection diet has with your progress in the gym. Sometimes this takes a little while for people to notice!

Prior to the posting of the CFDE Paleo Potluck Recipe Book, let me share one of my experiences with that event. Although it has been over two months since I last posted, I am still working on getting closer to 100% Paleo than I am to 0% Paleo. I must say that the Paleo margarita’s [...]

Hey Girls! Can’t wait to see everyone bright and early tomorrow morning at 9. Oh, and our quads may be saved (no promises), I just heard that the programming is being changed up.
