Paleo Challenge 2012

It’s time for another Paleo Challenge! This time the challenge will be 5 weeks. It all starts January 7th and lasts until February 11th. While you have heard all the coaches talk at length about the importance of eating real food, it’s now time to make a commitment and get serious about your diet. Swimsuit season will be here soon enough, so get started now. Watch these two videos for some basic info:

Check out the amazing results from our previous Paleo Challenges: First Challenge and Second challenge. The last paleo challenge winner took home $300 and some Lulu gear.

What do you get out of it?
If you stick to this for 5 weeks, we guarantee that you will look, feel, and perform better. On January 7th, the coaches will have a nutrition lecture and go over all the details/rules of the challenge. On January 28th, we will have another follow up lecture to make sure you are still on the right path. During the challenge you will have access to exclusive info and coaches notes about tips and tricks to avoid the common pitfalls. We are going to make sure you have as many tools as possible to help you succeed.

What do I need to do to sign up?:

1. Go here to pay the Registration Fee of $50.00.

2. Show up on January 7th at 11:00am for “before” pictures (front and back view), get info about the Paleo diet and the challenge, and do the workout called “Helen”.

3. The first 3 weeks must be 100% clean. No exceptions. You may have some allowable cheats in the last 2 weeks. Allowable cheats will be discussed during the nutrition lectures.

Corrective Exercise and Mobility Class

Crossfit Deep Ellum is pleased to announce the latest addition to the gym:  a mobility class that is directed towards each individual’s specific needs!

What:  An hour-long class focused on the specific mobility and stability limitations as indicated by the FMS
Who:  Anyone who has completed an FMS assessment (Interested but have not yet signed up for an assessment?  SIGN UP HERE)
When:  Sundays from 11:00am to 12:00pm and Wednesdays from 5:00pm to 6:00pm (you can attend one session or both sessions per week)
Where:  Crossfit Deep Ellum
Why:  Crossfit Deep Ellum is dedicated to helping its members become stronger, faster, leaner, and healthier all while minimizing risk of injury.

This class is open to anyone who has already completed the FMS assessment.  It will not count against your membership if you are on a 10-class card or a 3x per week plan.  The only requirement is that you have completed the FMS. This new class is being offered immediately, so if you have already completed an assessment you can begin attending now!

Nutrition 101 – Free Seminar

Interested in learning more about how proper diet and nutrition can help your health and performance?

This is the first in a series of upcoming Nutrition Seminars to help our members better understand the what, why and how’s of eating healthy.

Join us Wednesday, June 29th after the 6pm class at CrossFit Uptown for our first Nutrition 101 Seminar.

This 90 minute session will begin with an overview of our nutritional philosophy and continue into specific topics such as “Why should I eat this way” and “What is real food anyway”?

Possibly the most important part of this session is the ample Q&A portion. This is an opportunity to have Drew, Eric, and Koy provide insights and answers to many tough questions you may have. We will be limiting this to 50 people, so please comment below if you plan to attend. Also, please feel free to ask any questions you may have about the seminar in the comments as well.
