Never Ending Math Equation

WOD

Deadlift - 1 rep max

Rest

Kettle bell breathing ladder by twos

Perform 2 kettle bell swings, take 2 breaths. Perform 4 kettle bell swings, take 4 breaths. Continue the ladder until you can no longer complete the amount of reps due to either muscle failure or the need to re-grip. If either hand comes off of the kettle bell, the ladder ends.

      Glad you approve Danielle!

      • Sadly, my body was not as excited for this as I was. But I’m choosing to blame it on the super bendy bar.

Traci and Tiff thanks for partnering with me, you girls are STRONG!

wow wow wow. morning classes were ridiculous today. awesome job everyone. PRs were coming left and right.

  2. I heard the Saturday workout was pretty brutal this week. Anyone want to post what it was?

I’ll see you guys tonight, hoping to break 300 for the first time on DL.

  3. Saturdays
    In teams of 2:
    800m Relay (so 1 400 each)
    75 burpees l
    75 ab mat sit-ups
    75 KB swings
    50 burpees
    50 ab mat sit-ups
    50 kbs
    25 burpees
    25 ab mat sit-ups
    25 kb swings
    800 m relay finish

(all of the above were totals, so you and your partner would get 75 combined burpees, 75 combined kbs…etc)

Tiffany, you were a great partner on Saturday by the way!!

    • Thanks Tracy! That was a fun workout after I realized each of the sets weren’t 75.

  4. Had an emotional meltdown this morning…175# (PR by 15#) Quit at 165, but Jerm made me do 175. Was so pissed I couldn’t do more. Expectations are dangerous for me.

And yes Eric, there are some very strong ladies in the morning crew! And gents too…did I see that Andrew broke 400#?!

I love 1RM DL, hoping to break 400 tonight, stopped out at 390 last time…

415 PR, 2 muscle ups in a row for good measure PR

  6. Really interesting segment on The Diane Rehm show on NPR this morning. http://thedianerehmshow.org/shows/2010-07-12/running-america
They have a writer who advocates what sounds like pose running, a podiatrist, and a marathon runner square off on running techniques and discuss what causes injuries and running barefoot.

I really want to know what “stupid weightlifting move” the marathon runner did to get himself injured. Sadly, he wouldn’t go into it.

    • And if anyone makes fun of Diane’s voice, I’m gonna have to hit you.

      • Yeah, she’s the one with the vocal chord condition, right? I heard the guy who writes Dilbert has that too. That’s awesome NPR has kept her on the air, she’s incredibly bright and a great host.

I bet Paleo would fix that. lol

  7. Justin07/12/2010

No Eric – the Zone would fix that. As long as you eat the right number of blocks, you will have superhuman strength and never have any problems in your life.

    • E07/12/2010

I am sorry, you are correct. Quarterpounder meal at McDonalds is basically a 5 block meal. Could eat 4 of those a day and be set. The Zone is AWESOME!

I like the name of this workout! :)

    • E07/12/2010

Are you referring to your “Eric, I can’t math” statement this morning?

      • You have way too good of a memory Eric.

      • Maggie07/12/2010

Haha yes…Too much adding and subtracting for that early in the morning! I was having a hard time.

  9. Carter07/12/2010

Please tell me the story. How did I miss that “math” comment?
