    Outstanding work morning crews!

Happy Birthday Heather. You got exemption from the birthday burpees for rocking the burpees in the wod this am.

  2. This workout is like whoa! I may be insane, but I’d like to try this one since I missed Monday, if that’s cool. I’m feeling okay today, although I think I freaked my roomate out when she came home to me wrapped up in ice packs and chugging water.

Thanks to everyone at crossfit deep for making me feel welcome and pushing me in the workouts the past three days. I travel to a lot of different cities and go to different crossfit boxes in each and crossfit deep has been my favorite so far!
Special thanks to Eric, Koy and Mike for some challenging and fun workouts.
I’ll be eating a good Paleo meal alone at Kozy Kitchen (by Koy’s recommendation) tonight at 5:15pm if any of my new crossfit friends want to join me.

    • Scott–it was great working out with you the past couple of days! Come visit us again!

  4. Though I’ve been out for two weeks, I’ll be there tonight for the 5:30 p.m. class b/c i just HAVE to get in a freaking workout this week…and if you’re only doing one workout, it might as well be this soul-crushing bastard.

  5. Well…While I was doing back extensions and watching everyone else do burpees I had a mental breakdown and decided there was no way I could finish this workout. Sometime during wall ball I started crying and continued to cry through all the burpees. Apparently Koy didn’t care because he was sitting next to me going, “1, 2, okay go, 1, 2, okay go” the entire time, but I actually finished! Thank you so much to all the coaches for pushing me even when I’m complaining and crying. Yesterday and today were particularly hard for me, but THANK YOU for making me do it!

    • Maggie, you’re a badass.

      • Koy04/30/2010

Agreed, @Maggie is indeed a badass

You rock Maggie. Filthy 50 is by far one of the hardest CrossFit benchmarks. Even when you have days where you doubt or don’t believe in yourself, you can count on everyone else at the gym to believe in you. Keep it up!

  6. Maggie is bad to the bone, you go Girl! How ignorant would I be if I did this workout today and then rode in a 90 mile race tomorrow? I really want to…

  7. This WOD was amazing! I’m still completely exhausted from it! I had to scale to 40…45# bar….I think my time was 21:06.

  8. Happy birthday Heather!! I hope you have a great day and weekend.

Maggie, you are too funny! I’m sure you did awesome! I’ll probably be crying tonight too. I hope I can beat my time from January or increase weight. We’ll see. I’m going to try to make it to the 5:30 class.

  9. Way to go, Maggie that’s awesome. I’m definitely sorry I’m missing this one, I’ll see you guys next week though.

I’m going to Moby-Dick tonight at the Winspear, so I’ve got and slightly edited inspiration for anyone that needs it during this whale of a workout:

“Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering WOD; to the last I grapple with push-press; from hell’s heart I stab at wall-balls; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at burpees.”

    • Um I think this needs to be a poster in the gym…you know kinda like a cross between those Motivators posters and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies books.

This is freaking awesome! I seriously want a shirt with this quote on the back.

      • I agree. CFDE logo t-shirt with this on back would rock!

  10. PS I may have just set a PR for nerdiness.

    • Nah, now if it was a Dostoevsky quote, then we’d give you the PR nerdiness :)

      • E05/01/2010

        The Brothers Karamazov FTW!

  11. @bpmente, I see a business opportunity here…Best copyright that shit before someone else does…

  12. What is Rx for girls? I saw on one website that it may be 33# on the press, but my internet won’t search the word filthy so I can’t confirm.

  13. Thanks everyone!
Danielle- I could be lying, but I think Rx for girls and guys is the same (45# press) Is that right??

      • Maggie04/30/2010

50…now you have to do it. Ha! That makes me happy :) I like knowing others are sharing in my pain…I think Heather did 50 too.

      • I am a little upset with you for being a bad ass right now.

      • hmb04/30/2010

I did 50 too, and goodness gracious it was a challenge, but once your done the sense of accomplishment is well worth it. I can relate 100% to how Maggie describes feeling, but like her, thanks to the coaches made it through. I’m glad they pushed me because I think I would have quit for the wrong reasons.

Also, thank you for the birthday wishes!!

  14. nonononono! Damn… I guess I have to…

  15. Even though I had to scale this to the Filthy 30 – I am so damn proud I finished it. However, I had many doubts along the way. Thanks Koy and keep pushing!

  16. 25:53. I’m a little upset because this is 18 seconds slower than the last time we did this in January, but this time I used a taller box and a tad more weight on the push press, so I’ll take it.

I did 50 reps, but scaled everything: 20 inch box, 18# kb, 22# push press, supermans instead of back extensions, 6# ball and 3x singles instead of double unders.

It feels so great to be done. :)
